Sorry for the long message, I tried to steer clear of just making whiny calls for a 'fix' to your artistic vision here because I think we can all agree that's the worsat.I really want Wes to be in top tier or 2nd tier, but as he is right now, he's around the same as Bruno or a bit lower.

I don't mean to say there's a problem because *I* have a problem with it, but when I was searching for the appropriate thread it seems like a LOT of people are unenthused with the police, so maybe letting them be a device introduced later as the player inspires a full on gang war and the police need to intervene for a bit, or having them be temporary until you can clear your name? I'm going to keep going, but I needed to put down your game because of this and seriously consider whether I was going to continue. Police are a great addition, but I wonder if relegating them to a story device that servces the plot as opposed to effectively punishing people for exploring the game (seeing what will break and where, I mean there's destructable terrain for a reason, part of the fun of the original was being a bit of a bull in a china shop so to speak). There's a lot I just LOVE, but I don't know if punishing players who do what you expect them to do is idea lgame design? take that with however many grains of salt you so choose.

I was pumped for this to be a GBA title where I can catch things thrown at me and stuff as River City EX, I was excited for this to get kickstarted after an uninspired iteration took the steam out from under a labour of love, but I'm just not sure about this. I appreciate the nuances added to this game and all of the amazing gameplay additions planned over the years. fought police and was trold I was resisting arrest and died.

Played this game for an hour, accidentally hit a token machine in the arcade (since there is barely any area in ther game free of enemies unlike the original) and was alerted to a robbery. Played a lot of the river city ransom and enjoyed ther little things I could destroy. OH NO HE HIT A PARKING CONE ARREST THAT MAN! Game is a solid 8.5/10 if it werent for the police but now I'm gonna have to give it a 2, because i gotta play inside of a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ box of rules that dont even fit with what the game originally was. There needs to be a toggle for the police, because it just doesn't allow me to have any fun crushing my enemies when i gotta have kids gloves because a guy might bounce into a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ civilian or bump a parking cone and then the police lose their ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ minds. It makes no sense to include them a game like this game, it doesn't fit thematically at all. Seriously, why do we have the 'realism of police' in a game about kids who go to a high school all about kicking ass and has a principle that is a muscled freak who likes beating the ♥♥♥♥ out the student body as 'discipline' in what reality are these police. Seriously, the gameplay is an improvement over the old game in so many ways and then you throw police in and now i gotta stop enjoying the old school beat em up gameplay because 'big brother' doesnt want me having any ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ fun.
